Our Story
I was raised in Niceville, and as I got older, I wanted our community to have a place where people could enjoy a really good dinner, thoughtfully selected wines, and well-crafted cocktails.
Basil & Baxter’s may be a little unassuming from the outside, but inside, our focus is on fresh, local, high-quality ingredients, thoughtful preparation, friendly service, and making every visit feel special.
Chef Amber earned her culinary degree from Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is passionate about what comes out of her kitchen and takes pride in using the freshest, highest-quality ingredients available, including locally sourced products whenever possible. She wants every meal to be prepared and served exactly as it should be.
Amber and I work well together—she has a true passion for food, and I have a passion for wine and hospitality. Together with our team, we’ve created a restaurant where you can enjoy thoughtfully prepared dishes made with fresh, local ingredients, an extensive wine selection, handcrafted cocktails, and a carefully chosen collection of bourbons.
